FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A counselling session will generally last about 60 minutes.
Definitely. All personal information obtained during our sessions will remain confidential. In fact, counsellors are bound by a Code of Ethics and Practice to ensure this.
If some of your information is required to be provided to other people or organisations to assist in your treatment, it would only be released if you give prior consent for us to release it.
There are several circumstances however, in which that confidentiality can be breached. This includes:
- If you disclose that you going to harm yourself or someone else
- If you disclose any sexual or physical abuse, particularly of a child
- If your file is subpoenaed by a court of law
Normally, the decision to break confidentiality would be discussed with you.

Firstly, at Lifestyle Counselling Services, you choose the consultation type. You can meet me in my counselling room in Ipswich, we can meet at a park in the local area of Moggill and surrounds, or we can Skype from anywhere Australia wide.
As a sole practitioner, I am 100% dedicated to my clients. We will start with a complimentary 15 minute phone call to discuss your circumstances so I can be sure I am the best counsellor for you, as my ultimate goal is to see your success.
I don’t pretend to be everything to everyone, so if I don’t believe I am best suited to help you, I will help guide you to other resources. For example, I don’t specialise in young children and youth counselling and I am not a financial counsellor.
